The 2015 GMC Canyon will debut Sunday, on the eve of the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The big reveal will take place at the Russell Industrial Center, a former factory downtown. A “GMC 1.12.14” projection now lights up the side of the building at night.
This comes one year after the Detroit-based automaker unveiled the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the same building.
Truck enthusiasts have been waiting patiently. Besides a series of teaser photos, GM has not announced any information about the Canyon.
The Canyon is a midsize pickup, which the industry seems to have moved away from during the past few years. GM phased out its Colorado and Canyon pickups last year. Crosstown rivals Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Group LLC ended production of the Ford Ranger and Dodge Ram Dakota in 2011.
GMC will also showcase an updated Colorado at NAIAS.
