DETROIT -

Luxury automotive brand Infiniti unveiled a sports sedan at the North American International Auto Show with the help of Cirque du Soleil.

The flashy debut of the Q50 featured a performance by the international troupe Monday morning during press preview days at the Detroit auto show. It marks the first model to carry the new 'Q' badge that will permeate the product line of the Nissan-owned brand.

Infiniti officials say the Q50 has a "tight, athletic appearance," including an aggressive front end, dynamic wave shape and arched roofline. The car also comes with a camera-based stability system to prevent lane drift and adjust for road surface changes or crosswinds.

The Q50 will be available this summer in North America with a 3.7-liter V6 or 3.5-liter hybrid engine.
