Facebook could owe you money as part of $20 million settlement

If you got an email saying you’re part of a class action lawsuit against Facebook, it’s not a scam.

Millions of Facebook users are eligible for a small share of a class action settlement against the company.

The lawsuit stems from Facebook’s placing of users in a “sponsored story” ad based on things they had “liked.”

Things users “like” were often taken out of context.

Facebook settled the case for $20 million.

Any user who got the email, which came from legalnotice@facebookmail.com, can follow the instructions to file a claim. The highest potential payout is $10.
