The world's largest travel site has posted tropical deals that knock the average price of a one-week Caribbean getaway out of the water. TripAdvisor says the average price for a weeklong vacation for four people is $7,152. That price includes round-trip air fare from the continental U.S., a seven night hotel stay, dinner for six nights and a half-day snorkeling excursion for four.

However, some islands are less expensive than others, according to the TripAdvisor TripIndex. "U.S. travelers heading to Dominican Republic, Jamaica, or Puerto Rico within the Greater Antilles can get more value for their money and save 36 percent compared to other Caribbean destinations," said Brooke Ferencsik, director of communications for TripAdvisor in an article posted on the website.

TripAdvisor found trip deals including airfare, hotel, meals and snorkeling, totaling $4,609 in Puerto Rico, making it the most affordable hot spot.

Jamaica was very close behind, costing $4631, making it the second least expensive destination . The third best value was Trinidad and Tobago at $4,771. Followed by the Dominican Republic costing $5,315.

You can search for your own deals on the TripAdvisor website www.tripadvisor.com.

As always, do your comparison shopping to make sure you're getting the very best deal possible.
