This will be the company's fourth data center. It already has two centers in Ann Arbor and another in Flint.

"Our data centers deliver secure colocation and cloud hosting services to clients whose IT operations must comply with regulations like HIPAA, PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley. In the past, it has been a huge challenge for companies to find data centers with a core culture of security and regulatory compliance. Our data centers, including the new Metro Detroit Data Center, reflect our commitment to protecting our clients and their sensitive data." said Mike Klein, Co-CEO of Online Tech.

"Detroit is a perfect location for expansion with a healthy enterprise market of Fortune 500 companies and a fast-growing community of startups in the healthcare, financial and retail industries. Our investment of $10M in infrastructure and 15 new jobs in this Metro Detroit data center will provide the critical IT infrastructure and services that growing Michigan companies need to sustain growth and credibility in the next few years," said Klein.

The new data center will be 34,000 square feet with Online Tech making a $10 million capital investment with the project.  It's expected to ready for the second quarter of 2014.

Carlson, a national data center design and construction firm, was contracted to manage the build out of Online Tech's new Metro Detroit data center.

"The Online Tech team has an exceptional program in place for selecting great assets in underserved markets and they have put the resources in place to execute on these opportunities.  Carlson is very pleased to be a part of Online Tech's data center delivery team and to have the opportunity to help fuel the growth of their data center and cloud services," said John Watts, President of Carlson.

With the new data center, Online Tech will make 15 new hires over the next five years.

According to 451 Research, Online Tech is the market leader in the Detroit Metro with the top market share in multi-tenant data center space in Michigan.

"This new facility is a major milestone for Online Tech because it is our fourth data center and it brings us to an overall total of 100,000 square feet of gross data center space. This facility will allow us to serve the large Detroit market, where we see strong demand for the secure, compliant cloud and hosting services that only Online Tech offers, but our growth won't stop there," said Yan Ness, co-CEO of Online Tech. "We see similar opportunities for us in other markets in the Great Lakes region and the Midwest, and we expect to continue our growth strategy by expanding our portfolio of data centers into other cities in the near future."
