Bruners fail to turn off, fire hazard

LG Electronics is recalling about 161,000 of its electric ranges due to a burn and fire hazard.

The burners on the ranges can fail to turn off after being switched off. also, the temperature setting can increase unexpectedly during use.

The models include: LRE30451, LRE30453, LRE30755, LRE30757, and LRE30955ST. They were sold in black, white and stainless steel and with a smooth black ceramic glass top cooking surface.

LG received 80 reports of  incidents involving the faulty burners. Fortunately, no on has been hurt.
