German automaker BMW is launching a recall and warning drivers they might have to pull over and call a tow truck.
The company says there's a problem with 2-liter, four cylinder engines that could cause the brakes to malfunction.
It says a glitch with the power brake pump could lead to issues with power braking assistance.
It says drivers should still be able to stop the car, but it might take extra pressure.
BMW is telling drivers that may have had the problem to pull their car off the road and call for a tow truck.
The recall includes 1 Series, 3 Series, and 5 Series sedans. Also the X1 and X3 crossovers and the Z4 sports car: all from model years 2012 through 2014.
This recall affects 176-thousand cars worldwide, about 76,00 cars in the United States. BMW says only a small number of owners have complained. BMW is notifying all owners affect by the recall by mail.
