Concern about short circuits, fires and shocks to customers has Target recalling its Threshold floor lamp.

The White 2-Bulb Floor Lamp sold for $70 between September 2012 and May 2013 at Target stores and online.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the lamp can short when a standard one-way bulb is tightened in the lamp’s three-way socket.   This could pose a fire and shock hazard to consumers.

There are six reports of the lamp short circuiting and fires igniting with some minor property damage suffered and two consumers being shocked.

The Threshold lamp has the model number: PL1071.   It can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the lamp.   Anyone who purchased the lamp should stop using it and return it to Target for a full refund.

Customers can call Target at (800) 440-0680 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday.   They can also go online to www.Target.com and click on Product Recalls under the Help tab, then click on Home & Kitchen for more information.
