Fast-Food Chains Offer Free Month Of Fitness

KFC, Pizza Hut Aim To Help People Get Fit

POSTED: Friday, January 2, 2009

KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell may make a nutritionist balk, but Yum Brands, the parent company of all three, wants to give customers free personal fitness training online.

2009: New Year, New You

A free month on the program, called eFIT4Me, is available on the fast-food chains' Web sites and at KeepItBalanced.com. After the free month, people can continue for $6 a month.

In a news release, Yum said the program includes customized fitness programs, identifies eating patterns and has tools to help people reach their goals.

A spokesman said in a news release that the company wants to provide "better for you" items on its menus and to promote exercise.

Yum Brands has also said that it will add calorie counts to its in-store menu boards over the next two years.
