A West Michigan osteopathic surgeon has had his license immediately suspended after being convicted of controlled substance-drug-false prescription.
Dr. Charles Ray Alderdice of St. Joseph was charged with prescribing inhalers to a patient and charging the patient’s ex-wife’s insurance. Alderdice was sentenced to 30 days in jail if he failed to pay $485.00 in fees and costs.
On March 21, 2013, The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) issued an order summarily suspending Alderdice’s license pursuant to the Public Health Code. The order also allowed LARA to seize all controlled substances owned or possessed by Alderdice.
