1,200 volunteers bring holiday cheer to seniors on Christmas

It's all part of the Holiday Meals on Wheels program

DETROIT -

The Detroit Area Agency on Aging is delivering 6,000 hot meals to homebound seniors in Wayne County.

As part of their Holiday Meals on Wheels program, DAAA teamed up with DTE Energy to give each senior a meal, blanket, and holiday card.

The team of 1,200 volunteers have been working since 6am Christmas morning at Valley Services kitchen to ensure homebound seniors will have a warm meal and some holiday cheer.
