1 dead after 2 men shot at bus stop on Detroit's west side

At least 11 shots fired, police say

DETROIT – A man in his 20s is dead and 19-year-old man is wounded after a man walked up to them at a bus stop on Detroit's west side and shot them Sunday night, police said.

It happened at a bus stop near Livernois and Warren.

Police said the victims, both employees at a nearby Fast Blast Car Wash, were approached by the gunman who opened fire with a black and silver handgun.

Police said the first victim was dead at the scene.

The second victim was able to run south on Livernois and get on a D-DOT bus. The driver called 911 and when the bus made it to Livernois and McGraw, emergency medical service personnel transferred the wounded man to an ambulance and took him to the hospital. That man is listed in stable condition.

Police said at least 11 shots were fired during the incident.

The gunman is described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 205 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black and orange jacket and blue jeans.

No other details were immediately released.
