Firefighters are battling a two-alarm blaze in southwest Detroit.
A four-story abandoned building located at Vinewood and Toledo streets caught fire Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and are working on controlling the blaze from the outside of the building because of the smoke.
The smoke that is coming from inside the building is changing colors, which, according to hazmat crews, is a sign of toxins.
Officials told Local 4 they are evacuating the area of Vinewood Road between West Grand Boulevard and Toledo Road in southwest Detroit.
Hazmat crews are entering the building to determine what toxins are being released through the smoke.
The cause of fire is not known at this time.
