Officials Consider Closing 2 East Detroit Schools
POSTED: Tuesday, December 12, 2006
School may be out for good for two East Detroit schools.
In an effort to save money, school officials are considering closing two elementary schools by the end of next year.
School officials said a committee has been formed to make recommendations to the school board on which buildings should close.
Officials said the buildings have not been identified. Local 4's earlier reports named Katner and Roosevelt elementary schools to be on the list, but that has not been decided.
According to the superintendent, the buildings to be closed will be identified when the board makes its decision.
