Two men who are accused of being phony contractors are in custody in Romulus.
Michael Gaber and Garrett Bayllog, both of Dearborn, are not licensed contractors, but area residents and police said they are acting as they are by taking money for jobs and not doing the work.
A woman contacted police after hiring Gaber and Bayllog to have heating and cooling done. The woman told police she paid for the work but it was never completed.
The men use four separate businesses that are listed in the Yellow Pages. The businesses include, best Value Heating and Cooling, Detroit's Best Heating and Cooling, Budget Plumbing Heating and Cooling, and B-Comfort Heating and Cooling.
Romulus police said they confiscated receipts from the men and have made contact with additional people.
An investigation is under way.
