2 Women Shot, Gunman Shoots Himself

Warren police are investigating a shooting in the 22200 block of Eastwood in Warren Friday night.When officers arrived, they found a 48-year-old woman and a 50-year-old woman shot.They were both transported to Henry Ford Bi-County Hospital.Police said one person was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other was transported to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit for surgery.She is expected to recover.Police found the alleged shooter a short time later.According to police, the shooter was Jeffrey Thomas Smith, 43, of Eastpointe.He was the husband of the woman who was killed.Smith was found dead in an Eastpointe apartment complex Saturday afternoon. Police said he shot himself.According to officers he has a violent history and his wife did have a personal protection order against him.
