It may be tough times for many businesses in Michigan, but not for a company in Howell who is enjoying its sweet taste of success.

Kathy and John Ruf said they created the Great American Pretzel Company five years ago. The Rufs watched their pretzels debut on the shopping channel, QVC, Tuesday night.

"We sold out within the first three minutes, " Kathy Ruf said.

They said the pretzels will be sold again Wednesday, and they hope to sell out again.

The Rufs said the national exposure has helped them find customers. The company is located in Howell, but originally started in Milford.
