SUMPTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Sumpter Township police say an 11 month old child was found dead in the family pool on Monday.
The child was taken to Mott's Children's Hospital of Ann Arbor but, did not survive.

Police say a back door was left open to let fresh air into the home when the child walked outside unnoticed.
The child somehow got into the family's above ground pool.
