PONTIAC, Mich. -- A Pontiac man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving on a golf cart.
Police said William George Vanbuskirk, 65, was behind the wheel of a golf cart that was quite tricked out.
The golf cart had a winch and plow secured to the front, bicycle lights used as headlights and brake lights, and plastic curtains that hung on the sides and the front as a windscreen, Local 4 reported.
A butane heater and CD player were turned on inside the golf cart.
Oakland County Sheriff's deputies stopped the golf cart around 2:30 a.m. Sunday crossing Baldwin Avenue, because they said the tail lights were not turned on.
When officers questioned Vanbuskirk, they said he smelled of alcohol.
Vanbuskirk told police he had been drinking Scotch as music blared from inside his golf cart.
His Personal Breathalyzer Test showed 0.1 percent, police said, and they added this was not Vanbuskirk's first drinking and driving incident. He has not had a driver's license since 1994.
According to the police report, Vanbuskirk replied to a question about who can legally drive a golf cart on the road, saying, "Gov. Granholm."
