Some Detroit schools close early due to Heat Advisory

DETROIT – Nineteen schools in the Detroit Public Schools Community District and seven schools in the Education Achievement Authority will close early Wednesday due to the Heat Advisory.

The following DPSCD schools will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.

Clippert Multicultural Honors Academy will be dismissed at 1 p.m.

The following EAA schools will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.

  • Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary Middle School
  • Southeastern High School of Technology and Law
  • Pershing High School
  • Henry Ford High School

The following EAA schools will be dismissed at 2 p.m.

  • Nolan Elementary-Middle School
  • Denby High School

Burns Elementary Middle School will close at 2:30 p.m.

Highs are expected to climb in the 90s Wednesday afternoon and will feel closer to 100 degrees.
