Human remains found in Metamora Township this weekend are believed to be those of missing 11-year-old Andre Bosse.

Bosse (pictured, left) disappeared in 1997 from her Muskegon, Mich., home. Dean Metcalfe (pictured, below) is serving life in prison after pleading no contest to first-degree murder charges, but never led police to her body, Local 4 reported.

Bosse was last seen riding her bike on June 17, 1997. Witnesses said that they saw a man following her in a truck. Police immediately began looking for Metcalfe, who was reportedly a neighbor, and father to Bosse's best friend. Metcalfe's cell phone was traced and he soon confessed to the crime, Local 4 reported.

Metcalfe was already serving two life sentences for molesting children. His May 1999 sentencing ensured that he would never be paroled, according to Local 4 reports.

Metcalfe had mapped out an area for investigators to locate Bosse's body. The location police had previously searched was about one-and-a-half miles away from where the body was found this weekend, Local 4 reported.

The skeletal remains were discovered by a person walking through the woods looking for deer sheds Saturday, according to Metamora Township police. Dean Metcalfe

A bullet and shell casing were also found at the wooded scene, Local 4 reported. Metcalfe had told police that he shot her at the site, the station reported.

Michigan State Police said that it appears to be a good clothing match for Bosse. Dental records have also reportedly been matched to Bosse. Police said that they expect to make a positive identification with DNA tests on the remains found by Monday afternoon.

The body is expected to be returned to Muskegon Tuesday.
