UPDATED: 9:09 am EDT May 30, 2007

Police are searching for the gunman who shot and killed an 18-year-old man on his bicycle.

It happened near Florence Street and 3rd Avenue in Highland Park at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said the victim was shot several times by a gunman who was inside a light blue Chrysler sport utility vehicle.

Officers said immediately after the shooting, a second vehicle, described as a green Ford, possibly a Taurus, drove past the victim and fired two more shots at the man and sped off toward Hamilton Avenue.

The 18-year-old was taken to Henry Ford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information should contact Wayne County Sheriff's office tip line at 1-866-WCS-TIPS.
