US minority population makes major strides

On May 17, the U.S. Census Bureau released a set of estimates showing that 50.4 percent of our nation's population younger than age 1 were minorities as of July 1, 2011. Read on to learn more interesting new facts about race within the U.S. population.

California had the largest population of single-race, non-Hispanic whites of any state in 2011 (15.0 million).
