POSTED: 9:23 am EDT July 23, 2007
UPDATED: 12:06 pm EDT July 23, 2007

Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi has reopened after a gas leak shut it down for several hours Monday morning.

The mall is located at 12 Mile and Novi roads.

Work crews struck a gas main outside an entrance to the mall around 9:30 a.m. sending gas fumes into the mall.

The gas line has been capped. Workers and shoppers have been given the all-clear to return.

Residents in the area were not evacuated. There were no road closures and no injuries reported.

The mall was not yet open for business, however, there were employees and mall walkers inside.

Construction crews are working on an expansion on Macy's and an addition for a Nordstrom's.
