Organizational experts will tell you --- if you don't use something in one year, you should get rid of it.
In the case of tiger stadium, it's been eight years since we bid a fond farewell. Time has taken its toll on the ballpark at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull. What was once the home of Ty Cobb, where Al Kaline ruled right field and the bless you boys brought home the 1984 championship, has become an eyesore and a constant symbol of the city's indecision.
Right now, the city has another chance at bat on this issue. Once again -- councilmembers are debating *what* to do with the stadium.
WDIV/Local 4 thinks the answer is simple --- tear it down!
What is built next can come later, but bring the ballpark down. It's time to move on and move forward as the city grows bigger and better. I'm Steve Wasserman --- let me hear from you.
