An elderly Sterling Heights resident foiled an attempted home invasion and helped police arrest the two suspects.
The 80-year-old female homeowner, whose name is not being released, actually pushed one of the suspects out a window.
Police said the attempted break-in happened earlier this week about 11 a.m. According to police, one suspect rang the front door bell while the second suspect attempted to climb through a kitchen window.
The homeowner told police that as she approached the front door, she heard a noise coming from the back of the house.
"As I made my way to back to the kitchen that person is already in my window," the homeowner said.
The homeowner said she yelled out that she was calling the police, dialed 911 and then went to the kitchen.
"His foot was in my sink. He knocked all my little figurines off my window sill," the woman said. "I picked up that foot and I shoved the whole body out of the window. He fell right out of my window."
The homeowner said the suspects drove away, but were eventually stopped by the police who responded to the 911 call.
The police arrested an 18-year-old man from Waterford Township and a 17-year-old male from Sterling Heights.
Police said the two teens may be responsible for other break-ins in the Sterling Heights area.
