Police Investigate Troy Stranger Danger

POSTED: Monday, October 15, 2007
UPDATED: 9:51 am EDT October 16, 2007

Police are on the lookout for a man who police said attempted to abduct an 11-year-old boy.

The boy told police that a man got out of a white work van and started to run after him in Troy at the intersection of Renee and Barclay streets.

The man was yelling at the child and telling him to come over to him, police said.

The boy escaped by running to friend’s home.

Police describe the man in question as a white male, about 35 years old and 175 pounds. He was driving a white work van without windows on the side.

The school district has sent home notices to parents and police have increased patrol in the area.

If you have any information call the Troy Police Department.
