Bloomfield Township police said a customer at the Barnes & Nobles Bookstore helped them catch a pair of suspected robbers.
The robbery took place shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday when a man dressed in all black entered the store.
According to a store employee, the man said he needed help finding a book and handed the cashier a note.
The note, police said, was actually announcing the hold-up and the suspect ran out of the store with an undetermined amount of cash and checks.
Police said the suspect got into a waiting get-away car driven by a second man. According to police, as the two men sped off a quick-thinking customer called police.
Officers spotted the suspects' car near the intersection of Telegraph and 12 Mile roads. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested both men.
Police said one suspect had to be Tasered for resisting arrest. The suspects are identified only as a Detroit resident and a Pontiac resident.
A spokesperson for Barnes & Nobles Bookstore issued the following the statement:
"We are happy no one was hurt. Our store manager is cooperating with local police to assist in the on-going investigation."
