DETROIT -- Dozens of Ford retirees are upset after getting a letter that said their health benefits were being canceled, but it turns out the letters went out to the wrong people.
In the letter, Ford tells its 65 and older retirees they will need to use the letter as a voucher to get their house reimbursement arrangement, which comes to roughly $1,800 a year. The letter also states that Ford will get them in their new health care agreement starting on Jan. 1.
If you're under 65, you should not be getting the letter, but many Ford retirees under age 65 said they got the letter.
Ford retiree Delores Randall-Kirkwood, 59, said she got one of the letters.
Ford spokeswoman Marcie Evans said it was an error with the database, and only 65 and older retirees were supposed to get the letter.
Ford is sending out another letter to those retirees to correct the information.
