A tradition is continuing right now in Detroit, a tradition that can make Detroiters proud.
The Angels' night volunteers are standing together patrolling the city's streets and keeping watch over the city's neighborhoods.
The annual event attracts more than 50,000 volunteers from across the city and the suburbs and each year even more angels join.
Once again volunteers will be on the streets, adopting vacant or abandoned buildings and asking homeowners to turn on porch lights and remain vigilante of suspicious activity.
Their dedication and determination have all but eliminated the devil's night era from long ago.
WDIV/Local 4 applauds the efforts of the Angels night volunteers and their attention to the city, and to the safety of families who enjoy this Halloween holiday.
Now, if we can just generate this type of excitement year-round for protecting our city --- imagine the possibilities.
I'm Steve Wasserman, let me hear from you.
