DEARBORN, Mich. -- The 43 year-old former co-owner of the Fairlane Ford dealership in Dearborn was sentenced for child pornography last month.
Joseph Walker’s sister Julie Turlis, who is now the owner, reported him to the authorities after she discovered child pornography on Walker’s desk and on his computer.
Turlis told police that Walker denied the porn was his and said that somebody sent it to him as a joke.
Police said they found a lot of child pornography on Walker’s computer.
"This is a personal issue concerning Joe Walker. Joe has not worked at the store for one year and has resigned his employment,” said Turlis.
Police said they found Walker’s hard copies of child pornography after he tried to dispose of them in the Dumpster behind Bamboozles Bar.
Walker’s attorney told Judge Patricia Fresard of Wayne County that Walker only needed help and not jail time, but Fresard did not agree and sentenced him to one to four years in prison.
Walker and Turlis inherited the dealership after their father retired.
“We at Fairlane Ford strive to provide quality sales and service and are making every effort to get beyond this issue,” Turlis said in a statement.
