Power Back On In Farmington

POSTED: Monday, December 17, 2007
UPDATED: 2:21 pm EST December 17, 2007

Power is back on in Farmington after a fire at a DTE Energy substation darkened the homes of 4,000 area residents.

Everything but the emergency phone service was knocked out, causing some traffic headaches.

Some businesses and homes were left without heat.

DTE said it was a failed power line that caused the fire, and it was not related to the weather.

The cause of the line failure is under investigation, the company said.
