DETROIT -- A billboard on Interstate 75 near 7 Mile in Detroit has some residents very upset.
They said the billboard is too bright and is making sleep impossible.
"It drive me crazy at night. I live right here," said resident Audrey Watson. "It shines right here in my family room."
Some have to keep their curtains closed.
"It's very hard to sleep with that sign up there," said resident Tiffany Paul.
Landlords trying to rent out vacant homes said people have turned down the homes because of the sign.
CBS owns the billboard, but the Michigan Department of Transportation regulates it.
M-DOT spokesman Rob Morosi responded with this statement. "We have sent a letter to CBS informing them we have received complaints from nearby residents regarding the billboard. We have asked them to check the settings and adjust the LED screen if necessary."
Residents said although it is a constant distraction, they are glad there is now plenty of light on an otherwise dark street.
