MILFORD, Mich. -- A Milford doctor who is accused of several counts of child pornography is slated to feature on "America's Most Wanted" television show after he has been on the run for over a month.
After a tip and subsequent search warrant, Sturgis police found hundreds of files of child pornography, which included hundreds of photos of naked children – some under the age of 8 on the anesthesiologist's computer.
Police said Joseph Kelly II, 48 must have been tipped off on Feb. 13 and was able to flee an area hospital just hours before police arrived to arrest him.
Investigators tracked Kelly to a hotel in Indiana, but lost his trail after that, according to
"America's Most Wanted" Web site .
Police said Kelly has access to a lot of money and ties in Michigan and is a self-proclaimed survivalist.
Kelly faces several counts of possession of child pornography, a four-year felony and several counts of using a computer to commit a crime, a seven-year felony.
The investigation has been turned over to the U.S. Marshal Service and the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Team.
Police describe Kelly as bald on top and said has blue eyes and usually wears glasses.
Anyone with information can contact the Milford Police at 248- 684-1815.
Kelly is scheduled to appear on "America's Most Wanted" within the next several weeks, if he has not been caught by that time, according to the Livingston Daily. The show airs on Fox network at 9 p.m. on Saturdays.
