ROYAL OAK, Mich. -- In the middle of a legal drama involving the mayor of Detroit, one suburban company is going for laughs at the mayor's expense with a discussion/e-commerce site called
kwamemug.com.
And, by "expense," we don't mean the
$700-an-hour attorney representing the mayor.
Jason Shultz and his colleagues at
Ohm Creative Group were sitting around watching coverage of the Kwame Kilpatrick scandal and they recognized a market opportunity.
So, the company, which usually makes music videos and Web sites, decided to branch out into the world of scandal.
One product, a T-shirt, features the mayor's and Christine Beatty's mug shots with some of their scandalous text messages.
Like the Web site says, why not have the mayor's mug shot on an actual mug?
The site's only been up since Monday night, but already has hundreds of people weighing in on the scandal.
