POSTED: Monday, April 21, 2008
UPDATED: 12:35 pm EDT May 16, 2008

A cat badly burned inside a microwave last month has been adopted.

A Detroit family brought the cat, named Stouffer, to the VCA Animal Hospital in Detroit after their child put it in a microwave and turned it on.

The family told the hospital they had received the cat as a gift and did not have the money to pay the medical bills.

The kitten's feet, tail and ears were burned and its tail and ears had to be amputated.

But Thursday, a fully recovered Stouffer the cat was adopted by a Canton couple.
