DETROIT - A 16-year-old Detroit boy is recovering after being hit by gunfire from a drive-by shooting early Monday morning.

Robert Jackson was struck just after midnight when a car rolled up to a house on Hickory Street near Gratiot and shots were fired.

Jackson heard the shots and tried to run, but a bullet came through a window and hit him in the back.

His family said he was treated at a hospital but has since been released.
