1924: Grammy-winning singer Dinah Washington, who had 34 top 10 hits on the Billboard R&B charts, is born in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Some of her best-known hits include "Ain't Misbehavin'," "Am I Asking Too Much," "Baby Get Lost" and "This Bitter Earth."
