DETROIT -- Two men were bound over Monday to stand trial in the alleged contract killing in December of a Detroit police officer's wife.
Marzell Black, 20, was charged with making arrangements for the slaying of Rose Cobb, wife of suspended Detroit Police Sgt. David Cobb.
Vincent Smothers, 27, of Shelby Township, is a self-proclaimed hit man who was charged with Rose Cobb's murder.
Smothers allegedly admitted to killing at least six other people as a hired gun.
The victim's husband was charged last month with ordering the killing, but charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence. He remains under investigation.
Black is the son of a woman with whom Cobb was allegedly having an affair.
Rose Cobb was shot at least once in the head while inside the couple's van at a CVS on Jefferson Avenue and died at the scene.
David Cobb had claimed to be inside the CVS when his wife was shot.
