Saint Clair Shores police arrested a barricaded gunman Wednesday afternoon.
Rodger Allen was arrested after a several-hour standoff. Police were called to the 22000 block of Lake Boulevard Wednesday morning after neighbors reported seeing Allen with a gun and then entering a home.
Police sealed off Lake Boulevard near 12 Mile Road and Jefferson Avenue and some local schools were on lockdown during the standoff.
A lockdown has been lifted for Violet Elementary School, which was the closest to the barricaded gunman, and Redeemer Lutheran Preschool, which had nine students in the building at the time. Also, school district officials said Lake Shore High School was on high alert, but was not on lockdown.
Allen was in the home alone during the standoff and did not injure anyone, police said.
Police said Allen has a history of mental disorders and a drinking problem.
