Teen Shot, Killed On Detroit's East Side

POSTED: Wednesday, July 2, 2008
UPDATED: 11:36 pm EDT July 2, 2008

A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed near the intersection of Schenherr and Greiner on Detroit’s East Side around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Neighbors tell Local 4 the teen was a known troublemaker who had a reputation for robbing people and businesses in the neighborhood.

"He was known for robbing people. And he robbed the shooter on several occasions. The shooter just got sick and tired of it,” said one of his neighbors, who did not want to be indentified. "I told him at one point, ‘You better quit doing this stuff because you’re going to find yourself killed one day.'"

The shooter is in custody and charges are pending.
