DETROIT, Mich. -- This summer, families can check out a new kiddie train at Belle Isle, where parents can take a ride with their children.
It takes off from Flynn Pavilion and loops around the Casino.
The train holds 20 people, and it's environmentally friendly. It operates on a battery that gets recharged at the end of each day.
After July 31, train operator Skyline Attractions will move the train to the Eastland Mall, and the attraction may come back to Belle Isle again next summer.
The company also operates swan paddle boats and the giant slide on Belle Isle, plus the Cullen Family Carousel at Rivard Plaza on the Detroit RiverWalk.
The train and swan boats run from noon to dark, Wednesday through Monday.
The train costs $3 per ride, or $5 for two people.
Paddle boat rides are $5 for 30 minutes.
