Police Investigate Slaying In Commerce Twp.

POSTED: Tuesday, July 15, 2008
UPDATED: 2:12 pm EDT July 16,2008

Police are investigating a slaying in Commerce Township.

Authorities said a woman found her father, Michael Gouba, dead around 1 a.m. on Tuesday in his home on the 1200 block of Sleeth.

The woman said she went to check on him and found him lying in a pool of blood.

The Oakland County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the 55-year-old man died of blunt force trauma to his head.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said they do not have any leads in the slaying at this time. Investigators are starting from zero and they want to know who was with him last.

"Somebody has to know something. That would be helpful," said Bouchard.

Bouchard said Gouba was laid off and lived alone. Many neighbors told Local 4 he kept to himself.

"I've lived here for two and a half years and have never talked to him once," said neighbor Pam Rose.
