1964: Composer Cole Porter, whose musicals include "Anything Goes" and "Kiss Me, Kate," and whose numerous hit songs include "Night and Day," "I Get a Kick Out of You" and "I've Got You Under My Skin," dies of kidney failure at age 73 in Santa Monica, Calif.
