17 dogs rescued from Clinton Township home

Neighbors file complaint after noticing foul smell around home

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – More than a dozen dogs were rescued Friday night from a Clinton Township home.

The Macomb County Animal Control removed 17 bulldogs and a Shepherd mix from the home on Carlisle Street.

Neighbors filed a complaint because the city allows residents to have only four dogs. They noticed a horrible smell coming from around the home this past summer.

The owners said they just didn't have the means to care for the dogs properly.

They were allowed to keep two.
