Suspect Identified By Tennis Shoes

DETROIT -- A 31-year-old man faces charges of unarmed robbery after allegedly robbing a woman at a Monroe Township gas station.
Deputies tell Local 4 the suspect, identified as Jason Gentry, approached a customer at the Marathon gas station on Dixie Hwy and asked her for help finding information on an insurance agency.
When the woman directed him to a gas station employee to find a phone book, the man allegedly grabbed her wallet and fled on foot.
The wallet contained credit and debit cards as well as about $57 in cash.
After viewing the surveillance tape, a Deputy located a suspect matching the correct description in a nearby neighborhood.
She said she remembered the suspect by his gym shoes and shorts.
Gentry was arrested and the stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim.
Gentry faces charges of unarmed robbery.
