1993: Michael Williams, a guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, sets the NBA record for most consecutive free throws, hitting his 97th in a row before missing his next one. Williams broke a record set by Basketball Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy, who hit 78 straight in 1980-81.
