Jobs Page Has Several Career, Training Tools

POSTED: Monday, September 22, 2008
UPDATED: 11:21 am EDT September 23, 2008

Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm announced Monday a featured page on the state’s Web site she said will connect residents to open jobs in their area.

The page offers job seekers career information, position searches, training information, state job postings and veteran employment services.

“Every day we are working to create and retain jobs in Michigan,” said Granholm in news release about the new page. “Even in this challenging time there are thousands of companies hiring right now.”

Automatic updates on job postings from the Michigan Talent Bank are also now available.

There are more than 35,000 available jobs posted with more than 79,000 registered employers seeking employees in fields such as manufacturing, banking, education, health care, sales, management and customer service, according to the MTB.

Check out the new page by visiting the jobs page of Michigan.gov.

The MTB is online at www.michigan.gov/talentbank.
