AT&T Call Center To Open

DETROIT -- Telecommunications giant AT&T plans to open a new call center in Detroit by the end of the year.
AT&T Inc. spokesman Joe Steele says the company will be hiring 300 people.
The jobs will pay an average of $445 a week and will provide customer service help for Internet broadband users throughout the Midwest.
These jobs will also offer health care benefits.
Detroit city officials said they will support AT&T with training assitance from the Detroit Workforce Development Department.

CLICK HERE.Plans are in the works for a biotech company to expand in Grand Rapids and a medical-billing company to expand in Kalamazoo, creating hundreds of jobs.
The Grand Rapids Press reports that San Diego-based Sequenom plans a $20.3 million expansion in Grand Rapids including lab space that is expected to bring more than 500 jobs.
The Kalamazoo Gazette reported that medical-billing company Accretive Health of Chicago plans to bring 500 jobs to Kalamazoo.
