UPDATED: 4:05 pm EST November 13, 2008

Police said A 19-year-old student was robbed in his room at Abbot Hall Saturday.

The student said he was asleep in his dorm room on the first floor and when he woke up around 6 p.m. there was a man in his room holding his roommate's laptop computer.

His dorm room door had been shut but unlocked.

The student said when he told the man not to steal anything from him, a second man came into the room with what appeared to be a gun under his shirt.

The student said the man closed the door and the two suspects sat down and smoked cigarettes in the room before leaving.

The suspects reportedly stole $20 in cash and damaged the laptop computer.

The first suspect was wearing dark jeans, a black sweatshirt with white writing and a black hat. The second man had a medium build, was 6 feet 4 inches tall and wore a white hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Residents in the dorm said they were not notified about the robbery.

The case is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call MSU police at 517-355-2222.
